A New Season of STEAM in the PARK
As we step into Season 7, we’re thinking about how far STEAM in the PARK has traveled since our first camp at Acadia National Park in 2021. What began as one gathering has grown into a community of educators and park partners who believe the best learning often happens outside, with our hands in the work and our feet on the ground.
Across six seasons, STEAM in the PARK has brought educators and park rangers together at national park sites across the country. They have carried what they experienced home to their students, turning schoolyards, trails, waterways, and nearby green spaces into places for investigation and discovery. The work continues long after camp ends through the lessons they teach, the questions they encourage, and the young stewards they help shape.
Season 7 will place hands-on field science at the center of the experience. Participants will observe closely, collect and interpret data, study living and nonliving parts of each ecosystem, and work alongside the people who study and care for these places. From biodiversity and water quality to wildlife, geology, changing landscapes, and the night sky, every park will become a working field laboratory.
Our Season 7 theme, The Work of Wonder, reminds us that wonder is only the beginning. Curiosity draws us closer, but the work begins when we slow down, ask better questions, gather evidence, and use what we learn to care for the places around us. Field science gives wonder direction and helps educators bring meaningful, place-based investigations back to their students.
Season 7 will be filled with muddy boots, field notes, shared discoveries, and time spent learning from the land and from one another. We are ready to get back into the field and begin The Work of Wonder.

STEAM in the PARK is a 5-day, 4-night immersive experience designed for educators who are passionate about nature and education. Held in breathtaking national park locations, this program offers a unique opportunity to connect with like-minded peers, rekindle your fire for teaching, and gather invaluable resources to bring back to your students, schools, and communities. It's a time to live, learn, and grow among educators who share your love for the outdoors and a desire to make a lasting impact. Educators, park rangers, informal educators, and college students with an interest in education and environment are welcome to apply.
