Overview:
Welcome to Acadia National Park, where granite shores meet the Atlantic and forests, rocky coastlines, and changing tides create an extraordinary outdoor classroom. Campers will live and learn together while working alongside park rangers to investigate the species, coastal habitats, and night skies that make Acadia remarkable.

​Highlights of the Week:

• Tidepool Surveys: Explore Acadia’s rocky shoreline and conduct hands-on surveys of the crabs, snails, sea stars, and other organisms that depend on the changing tides.
• Green Crab Investigations: Work alongside park rangers to study invasive green crabs and learn how scientists monitor their effects on Acadia’s coastal ecosystems.
• Night Sky at Schoodic Point: Gather beneath the stars at Schoodic Point to observe the night sky, listen to the ocean, and experience Acadia after dark.
• Learn With Park Rangers: Explore side by side with the people who study, protect, and share the natural and cultural stories of Acadia.
• Coastal Learning: Investigate how tides, weather, geology, plants, animals, and people are connected throughout the park.
• Apartment Community: Campers will live and learn together in shared two-bedroom apartments, creating space for shared meals, conversations, collaboration, and community throughout the week.

• Schoodic Shores Apartments at Schoodic Institute.

​Costs:

• $930 per camper
• ​​The program fee will cover food, accommodations, supplies, and equipment for all activities.

​​Travel:

• Travel to and from camp is the sole responsibility of each camper.

  Portland International Jetport (PWM), Portland, Maine

Beginning & End

• Registration is 2-4:00 pm on Day 1
• Checkout by 10:00 am on Day 5

• January 31, 2027: Application deadline
• February 5, 2027: Camp acceptance/rejection notifications sent
• February 15, 2027: $100 nonrefundable deposit deadline
• May 1, 2027: FULL STEAM in the PARK payment deadline
• May 15, 2027: Full payment is no longer refundable
