Overview:
Pack your flip-flops and curiosity—Assateague is a camp like no other! Here the salt air whips across dunes, wild horses graze along the shoreline, and every tide carries a new lesson. It’s a place where the Atlantic teaches us about change, resilience, and the wild beauty of living on the edge.

🌟 Highlights of the Week:

• Horse Watch: Follow hoofprints in the sand and see what life is like for Assateague’s famous herds.
  
• Sand Builders: Dig in, build dune models, and test them against waves and wind.
  
• Shoreline Safari: Explore marshes, piping plover nests, and barrier island ecosystems.
  
• Lessons in Resilience: Swap stories about storms, survival, and what it means to adapt.
  
• Bonus Highlight — Lighthouse Climb: Take in the view from Assateague Lighthouse and see the island’s shifting story from above.

Accommodations:

• Chincoteague Bay Field Station in dormitory style rooms with shared bathrooms

• $850 per camper
• The program fee will cover food, accommodations, supplies, and equipment for all activities.

Beginning & End

• Registration is 2-4:00 pm on Day 1
• Checkout by 10:00 am on Day 5

• January 31, 2026: Application deadline
• February 5, 2026: Camp acceptance/rejection notifications sent
• February 15, 2026: $100 nonrefundable deposit deadline
• May 1, 2026: FULL STEAM in the PARK payment deadline
• May 15, 2026: Full payment is no longer refundable
