🌟 Get ready for an unforgettable adventure at STEAM in the PARK at Cuyahoga Valley National Park, happening from August 2-6, 2025! You'll dive into learning about key environmental issues like habitat restoration and water conservation, share meals, gather around campfires under the starry skies, and embark on a scenic day trip aboard the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad to explore the park’s fascinating history and diverse wildlife.

🌟 Highlights of the Week:
Cuyahoga River and Watershed Ecology

• Learn about the dramatic recovery of the Cuyahoga River from pollution and its vital role in watershed ecology and conservation.

Wetland and Forest Ecosystems

• Explore the interactions between the park’s wetlands and forests, and how these habitats support diverse plant and animal species.

Pollution and Environmental Restoration

• Dive into the park's history of industrial pollution and discover the efforts being made to restore habitats and improve water quality.

Transportation and the Ohio & Erie Canal

• Discover the importance of the Ohio & Erie Canal in 19th-century transportation, and how it shaped the region’s development and economy.

Water Conservation and Hydrology

• Understand the importance of water conservation and the role of hydrological systems in maintaining the health of the Cuyahoga River.​

Accommodations:

• Campers will stay in historic lodge-style dormitories at the Cuyahoga Valley Environmental Center.

• $675 per camper
• The program fee will cover food, accommodations, program fees, supplies, and equipment for all activities.

Beginning & End

• Registration is 2-4:00 pm on Day 1
• Checkout by 10:00 am on Day 5
  

Important dates:

• January 31, 2025: Application deadline
• February 5, 2025: Camp acceptance/rejection notifications sent
• February 15, 2025: $100 nonrefundable deposit deadline
• May 1, 2025: FULL STEAM in the PARK payment deadline
• May 15, 2025: Full payment is no longer refundable
