Overview:
Welcome to the Smokies, where mornings begin with mist drifting through the mountains and evenings bring campfires, shared meals, and a sky full of stars. This immersive experience invites educators to camp, cook, explore, and learn together while working alongside park rangers in one of the most biodiverse places in the country.

​Highlights of the Week:

• Learn With Park Rangers: Explore the Smokies alongside the people who know and care for the park, learning directly from their stories, expertise, and experiences.
• Synchronous Fireflies: Be in the heart of the park during one of nature’s most extraordinary events as thousands of fireflies flash together in rhythm.
• River Adventure: Tube down a mountain river, surrounded by the forests and flowing waters of the Smokies.
• Camp, Cook, and Connect: Prepare meals, gather around the campfire, and experience the kind of community that grows when people learn and live together outdoors.
• Discover a Living Laboratory: Investigate salamanders, fireflies, forests, waterways, and the remarkable connections that make the Smokies one of the most biodiverse places on Earth.

Accommodations:

• Camping at Elkmont Campground
• ​​Tents, sleeping bags, equipment included

​Costs:

• $675 per camper.
• ​​The program fee will cover food, accommodations, supplies, and equipment for all activities.

​​Travel:

• Travel to and from camp is the sole responsibility of each camper.

Beginning & End

• Registration is 2-4:00 pm on Day 1
• Checkout by 10:00 am on Day 5

• January 31, 2027: Application deadline
• February 5, 2027: Camp acceptance/rejection notifications sent
• February 15, 2027: $100 nonrefundable deposit deadline
• May 1, 2027: FULL STEAM in the PARK payment deadline
• May 15, 2027: Full payment is no longer refundable
