Mount Rainier National Park
July 19- 23, 2027
Cost: $915

---

Overview:
Welcome to Mount Rainier National Park, where ancient forests, glacier-fed rivers, alpine meadows, and a towering volcanic peak create an extraordinary outdoor classroom. Campers will investigate how water, climate, forests, and wildlife are connected while conducting field studies in a landscape undergoing visible change. Together, they will explore what Mount Rainier can teach us about science, stewardship, and the future of our natural world.

Highlights of the Week:

• Ecosystem Services: Investigate the many benefits healthy ecosystems provide, from clean water and wildlife habitat to carbon storage, and examine how climate change may affect these essential services.
• Old-Growth Forest Ecology: Walk among ancient trees while learning how old-growth forests support biodiversity, store carbon, regulate temperatures, and contribute to a more stable climate.
• Field Science Investigations: Work like environmental scientists by making observations, collecting data, asking questions, and using evidence to better understand the park.
• Water Studies: Examine glacier-fed streams, rivers, and other aquatic environments while discovering how water moves through the park and responds to environmental change.
• Living and Learning at Pack Forest Institute: Campers will live and learn together in cabins at Pack Forest Institute, with access to a shared bathhouse. This community setting will provide time to share meals, exchange ideas, reflect on each day’s discoveries, and build lasting connections.
