​​Travel to and from camp is the sole responsibility of each camper.
Camp cost: $650 per camper


Overview:
Join us for an unforgettable week of exploration and discovery at Rocky Mountain National Park. We’ll share meals around the campfire, learn from rangers, and be surrounded by the park’s breathtaking landscapes. You’ll likely see elk and pika during your stay, and if we’re lucky, we might even spot a moose! 

🌟 Highlights of the Week:
Ecology and Biodiversity
  • Alpine and Subalpine Ecosystems: Discover the park’s distinct life zones, from montane forests to alpine tundra, and see how plants and animals have adapted to thrive in each.
  • Wildlife Habitats: Learn about the diverse habitats of elk, mule deer, bighorn sheep, black bears, and mountain lions, and their crucial roles within the park’s ecosystem.
  • Plant Diversity: Explore the park’s incredible plant life, from ponderosa pines and aspens in lower elevations to the vibrant wildflowers of the alpine meadows.
Wildlife Conservation
  • Endangered Species: Discover the park’s efforts to protect threatened and endangered species, like the boreal toad and greenback cutthroat trout.
  • Elk Population Management: Learn about the strategies used to manage the park’s elk population, which plays a major role in maintaining the balance of vegetation and other species.
Cultural History
  • Native American History: Learn about the Ute, Arapaho, and other Indigenous peoples who have called this region home for thousands of years and their deep connection to the land.​
Accommodations:
  • Educators will camp together at Glacier Basin Campground. (Tents and sleeping bags will be provided)

Costs:
  • $650 per camper
  • The program fee will cover food, accommodations, program fees, supplies, and equipment for all activities.

​​Travel:
  • Travel to and from camp is the sole responsibility of each camper.

Beginning & End
  • Registration is 2-4:00 pm on Day 1
  • Checkout by 10:00 am on Day 5

Important dates:
  • January 31, 2025: Application deadline
  • February 5, 2025: Camp acceptance/rejection notifications sent
  • February 15, 2025: $100 nonrefundable deposit deadline
  • May 1, 2025: FULL STEAM in the PARK payment deadline
  • May 15, 2025: Full payment is no longer refundable
